Former Rugby League Prop, Mcdermott made 283 appearances for Leeds Rhinos where he won a Super League and Challenge Cup trophy. He was the first Rugby League player in Leeds Rhinos’ history to win all three of Rugby League’s big achievements with the club. The Challenge Cup, Super League Grand Final, and World Club Challenge all fell to Barrie McDermott in a Leeds shirt.

Capped 31 times for Great Britain & Ireland including a World Cup and tours of Australia, New Zealand, America and Russia. Widnes, Wigan and Oldham also signed him for his uncompromising brand of rugby league football.
