Viv Anderson is a trailblazer
One of the most decorated English footballers of all time, Anderson won 12 trophies in his career with some of the nations biggest clubs Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Including his role as pert of the miracle men of Nottingham Forest winning the European Cup in 1979 and 1980
Viv Anderson was so good he forced the England team to play him regualrly and became the first black footballer to play for the national team – cementing him in the history books and a leaving a huge, important legacy for generations to follow.
Awarded an MBE for services to football in 2000 and membership of the English Football Hall of Fame in 2004
This picture is of the Nottingham Forest City Ground. Viv made his name playing for Forest where he played between 1974 and 1984. Anderson made 400 appearances for the Tricky Trees and won 9 trophies including the 1978 first division and the 1979 and 1980 European Cups
