Viv Anderson is a trailblazer

One of the most decorated English footballers of all time, Anderson won 12 trophies in his career with some of the nations biggest clubs Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Including hsi role as pert of the miracle men of Nottingham Forest winning the European Cup in 1979 and 1980

Viv Anderson was so good he forced the England team to play him regualrly and became the first black footballer to play for the national team – cementing him in the history books and a leaving a huge, important legacy for generations to follow.

Awarded an MBE for services to football in 2000 and membership of the English Football Hall of Fame in 2004

This picture is of Viv Anderson representing England. Viv is famously the first black footballer to play for the mens senior team. He earned 30 caps between 1978 and 1988

Affectionatly nicknamed ‘Spider’ due to his long legs – Viv Anderson is a beloved legend for all the clubs he played for in his illustrious career
