Nottingham Forest Legends Signed League Cup Picture

Stuart Pearce

One of the all time Nottingham Forest legends. Stuart Pearce is as icon of English football – beloved by the nation for his hard work and dedication to his club and country.

Psycho will always be respected and beloved by England football fans for his heroics at Euro 96, when he stepped up and excorsized the demons of his penalty miss in Italia 90.

Des Walker

You’ll Never Beat Des Walker

One of the finest defenders that this country has ever produced. Des Walker had it all. Speed, strength, agility and would stop any attempts that strikers made to get past him. He was consitant in his approach to games, his consistancy to defending and he rarely missed a game

Quite simply Des Walker was unbeatable

Walker is beloved at the City ground – he started with Nottingham Forest in 1984 until 1992 then returned home in 2002 – 2005

In those those two spells with Forest Des Walker made 408 appearances and scored one goal. Des wasn’t there to score, his job was to stop the other team scoring and he was so good at it chants of ‘You’ll Never Beat Des Walker’ would ring out from the stands ever time he played

Steve Hodge

The man with Maradona’s shirt. Hodgey is Nottingham born and bred – and had two spells at the City Ground, one between 1980 and 1985 and then he returned between 1988 and 1991.

Hodge made his way into the England Squad in 1986 and is famous for being on pitch during the infamous Maradona hand of God – and he had the foresight to swap shirts with the legend after the game.

Hodge is a bonefide Forest hero and a loyal servant to the club

Franz Carr

A cult hero amongst the Nottingham Forest faithful. One of the fastest and most excisting wingers of the 1980s and 1990s – Carr was always a delight to watch at the City Ground, suppling balls to Neil Webb and Nigel Clough. Blessed with amazing speed and control, Carr had a reputation as a player who was great until his final ball! As Brian Clough perfectly put ‘He is the best corner flag hitter in the country, if only he knew where the net was’

(There is a classic story that Brian Clough locked Carr in a boiler room after a particulary poor performance, but Carr assured us that this, as with all Cloughie stories, has been exaggerated over time and wasn’t true)

Carr spent from 1984 to 1991 with Nottingham Forest making 131 appearances and scoring 17 goals, being a key part of the 1989 and 1990 League Cup victories.

(he is also remembered for knocking Forest OUT of the FA Cup in 1996 when he played for Aston Villa – but Forest fans have forgiven him!)
